Because we have a family practice, we wanted to take a moment and introduce our family to you. Dr. Lauren and I graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1997 and 1996 respectively. We have been in family practice since August of 1997 in Shrewsbury. Our home is in Shrewsbury. It is where we have chosen to raise our two sons, Ian and Alec.

Subluxation

In simplest terms, a subluxation a.k.a. Vertebral Subluxation) is when one or more of the bones of your spine (vertebrae) move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves. Spinal nerves are the nerves that come out from between each of the bones in your spine. This pressure or irritation on the nerves then causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves.

A subluxation, as defined by the Association of Chiropractic Colleges is: "A subluxation is a complex of functional and/or structural and/or pathological articular changes that compromise neural integrity and may influence organ system function and general health."
