As a young boy growing up in Massachusetts, he has fond memories of going hunting for treasures with his Grandfather, to fill his Antique store on Park Street in Lawrence Mass. Peter always wanted to open a furniture store that would recreate that warm, homey, nostalgic feeling he felt at Grampa's store.

After looking all over the State of New Hampshire for a simple pine bookcase for a Birthday gift for his wife Donna, he ended up frustrated with the selection available and built one himself.
