The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Dental Association all recommend that a child see the dentist for the first time around his/her 1st birthday. This allows our team to develop a positive relationship with your child early on. We will evaluate your child's dental health, habits and dental development, making recommendations to prevent dental disease.
Sealants

Sealants are a BPA free plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of permanent molars. These grooves can be deep and can even be narrower than a single bristle of a toothbrush. Sealants are very effective in preventing cavities on the chewing surface of the teeth. Sealants are easy for dentists to apply and an easy procedure for your child to have.
Fluoride

Fluoride is a natural mineral found in foods and water and is an important part of preventing cavities. The American Dental Association (ADA) and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommend three fluoride sources for children. Your child will receive a fluoride treatment every six months when scheduled here for a regular dental checkup.
Silver Diamine Fluoride

This is an alternative treatment to traditional fillings and offers a non invasive way to control certain cavities. This painless treatment can buy time until a child can tolerate a restoration in the future or until the baby tooth falls out.

Also known as laughing gas, you parents may have had this at one of your own dental visits. A lower, more appropriate and safe dosage is used on children. Nitrous oxide reduces the ability to sense physical or mental discomfort and can make time seem to pass more quickly. A nose mask delivers a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen.
