Town & Country Veterinary Hospital was established in 1986 in Junction City, Kansas by Dr. Robert Haynes with the help of his wife and lifetime partner, Pamela. Dr. Haynes graduated from Kansas State University in 1986 and opened a mobile large animal veterinary practice servicing northeastern Kansas and JC Livestock Sales Inc (a large sale barn located in Junction City).

Dr. Haynes grew up on his family's Hereford Cattle and Quarter Horse ranch south of Wamego, KS. This farm has been in the family for over 125 years. In 1979, he received a BS degree in Animal Science at Kansas State University and took a job as cowherd manager for a purebred Angus farm in Connecticut.
