Challis Idaho is nestled in the heart of The Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness Area, the largest wilderness area in the continental United States. Before the 1940's Challis did not have local medical services and until the 1970's medical care was sporadic. In 1976 North Custer Clinic was established with funds donated by the Marmont and Steele Reese Foundations.

Telehealth visits are available for scheduling with established patients. These visits can be conducted by using Apple FaceTime, Facebook Messenger Video Chat, Google Duo or Skype for our primary care providers and Facebook Messenger Video Chat, Google Duo or Skype for our behavioral health providers.
Sliding Scale Application

CAHC provides essential health service to patients regardless of their ability to pay. Discounted fees are available for community members who qualify, depending on income and household size. Discounts apply to all services offered but does not apply to any services performed away from CAHC. Call our office at (208) 879-4351 ext.
Our Providers

Richard Paris was born in Minnesota but grew up in North Dakota. He graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. However, his need to help others drove him to attend Medical School, which he did in Rochester, New York. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center in Tucson, Arizona; and did his Emergency Medicine Rotation in Missoula, Montana.
