I specialize in near shore and the calm backwater areas that are abundant in Southwest Florida. When you book a trip with Captain Larry Birt, you will be fishing out of the Goodland area, Marco Island, and all around the world famous 10,000 Islands, which is some of the most beautiful waters in all of Florida.
There are miles of secluded rivers, bays, and shorelines to fish. The targeted fish are Snook, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, and Pompano. There are many other species that you are sure to catch as well. My goal is to make sure you have a great day on the water! Whether that is going after a fish of a lifetime or just going out and getting your line tight while enjoying the water.

The weather will be the key factor here. Cool fronts will chill down the water. This will move many of the fish deep in the backwaters. The most common species to target during this time are trout, redfish, sheepshead, ladyfish and black drum. If the water warms up a little you can also see a few snook show up on the end of your line.
