If you're looking for the perfect blend of historical elegance, rustic charm, and a team that will handle all the behind-the-scenes, you've found your venue. Nestled within 200 acres of farm land just 30 miles south of Richmond, The Barns of Kanak's 13-acre grounds consist of ten barns, six silos, a cottage, farmhouse, pool, fountain, courtyards, ample parking, and more.

Our goal is to provide you an unforgettable wedding experience from your tour of the grounds to your wedding reception exit. Tom and Diane had a dream of serving couples in their commitment to each other as husband and wife.
The Spaces

The Farmhouse, typically used for the bride and bridesmaids to prepare, was added to the property in 1912. It includes a full kitchen, dining room, 2 sitting rooms, a vanity room, 2 bedrooms, and 3 full bathrooms. Typically used for the groom and groomsmen to prepare, the Cottage was one of the Kanak's original homes built in 1899.

Although we do not provide on-site catering, we do work closely with catering partners that will provide you a seamless and professional experience. We have handicap-accessible, spacious restrooms that can be accessed from inside and outside of the Reception Barn. Each restroom has plenty of stalls for large weddings.

Event Coordinating Interns work closely with our lead and assistant coordinators to make weddings and other events come to life. Their main responsibilities include event preparation, communicating with vendors and clients, administrative duties, assisting with social media and marketing efforts, and various other tasks associated with running an event venue.
