Founded in 1971 by C.J. Spering, PlateCrafters began as a rubber platemaker for the newspaper imprint industry and is one of the few trade shops still producing rubber printing plates. As pre-press technology evolved, PlateCrafters incorporated the latest innovations to be able to serve our customers.

Art Engraving was founded in 1923 by John Phillips on Court Street in Reading, PA. Through more than 90 years of development - from setting type by hand, to paste up and eventually to creating layouts digitally - we have become a full-service graphic art and platemaking company.
