Paintbrush was started by members of the Bigelow and Silkwood families and created with the belief that life should be lived beautifully; rooted in family, friends, and homestyle traditions; and filled with gratifying experiences.

With interior design and decor inspired by Yosemite and the Central Coast, Paintbrush was built with craftsman-style architecture, and filled with hand-selected art to represent the Sierra Nevada, Central Valley and Central Coast. The splendor of Central California's world renowned parks and breathtaking coast is spread throughout our community with artwork by local artists, as well as the internationally renowned Galen Rowell and Ansel Adams.

The experienced team at Paintbrush is devoted to providing comprehensive care and support with compassion. Working with each resident's physician, we create a unique care plan tailored to each resident that can encompass everything from assistance with medications, to hygiene, to transportation to and from doctor appointments, as well as other specific needs.

Our goal is to continually foster the growth of our care team and residents, and to always strive to improve our Paintbrush community and the lives of the people who live and work here. In 2019, a new leadership team was created to deliver the ultimate care experience for residents.
This includes top professionals in their field, devoted to delivering the highest quality care, along with Northstar Senior Living, a highly regarded California-based management service to oversee operations.They report directly to the local Paintbrush Board of Directors and owners on day-to-day operations and resident concerns.
