The practice of Acupuncture itself involves penetrating the skin with thin, solid, sterile metal needles that are manipulated by the hands or by electrical stimulation. Moxibustion is done through burning the herb called mugwort and applying the heat to Acupoints or certain parts of the body directly or indirectly.
