DMI was first founded as Directory Marketing, Inc. by Kari Simpson who worked in the advertising industry for more than 15 years before she saw a missing link between directory publishers and ad agencies. She started Directory Marketing, Inc. in 1998 to provide direct marketing solutions for directory publishers.
