I was born and grew up in Stockholm, Sweden where I started my career as a graphic designer employed as a typesetter, preparing pre press material for a printing company. I continued to work in the advertising industry and I was fortunate to secure a position as a junior graphic designer at Hall & Cederquist, now owned by American Young & Rubicam.
To continue my education, I moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida to attend the Art Institute where I achieved an Associates of Science degree in Advertising Design. I moved back to Sweden and continued working in the advertising industry in Stockholm for two years. I could not stop thinking about the life in Florida with the sun and the palm trees, so I decided to move to Miami permanently in 1984.
