In 1963 when the Rothschild family purchased the A&W Rootbeer Stand, eating out was simpler than it is today. Back then, there was no inside seating; carhops would walk out to take the customers' order at their car, and when they returned with food, they clipped a tray onto the car window, then came back to take it off when the customer was finished.
Our menu was very basic then - burgers, fries, hot dogs, and, of course, rootbeer. Over the years, however, we've expanded again and again to keep up with customer demand. We now serve up complete meals, from our ever popular omelets and waffles to our special fried chicken and catfish dinners. We've seen a lot of changes and we are proud to say that we have a loyal following of patrons and have always strived to maintain our family atmosphere.
