Course Details A Rees Jones-designed host venue of mulitple USGA Championships and Qualifiers. Shadow Hawk Golf Club sits on 274 acres of pristine land just outside of Houston in Richmond, Texas. Our private golf course was designed by world-renowned architect, Rees Jones, who weaved holes through old Pecan trees and around several large lakes.
Shadow Hawk's vision was to create a straightforward concept: operate a small, standalone private golf club offering a great golf experience. Shadow Hawk is a peaceful refuge from the city, but still close by, where one can quietly entertain friends, be with family or just get away to enjoy a more reserved environment.

The Club was founded in 1999. The first shot from hole No. 1 on opening day was hit by George H. W. Bush, 41st President of the United States - affectionately known as "41." The shot is memorialized by a plaque on the first tee. The Men's Locker Room features a locker covered in plexiglass with 41's favorite shirts and sweaters with the Presidential insignia.

Course Layout
Report
Clear planning is suggested on the par 5 first hole guarded by water the entire left side from tee to green. The word "mulligan" or a similar term could have could have originated on this tee if it hadn't already been coined.
After the short par four second with water on the right and a menacing short iron approach, the course continues to challenge through the first five holes followed by a ten hole stretch from hole 6 through 15 that offers scoring opportunities with the exception of hole 10 where the water from tee to green on the left side of this par four makes for another "grip tightener" to begin the back nine.
