Created by the owner of Nova Eye Care, Dr. Nhan Tran, the Alaska Dry Eye Center is a specialized office designed specifically for diagnosing and treating dry eye disease.

The practice was founded by the kindhearted Dr. Thomas Roselius in 1977. The practice was located at 2600 Denali Street on the 6th Floor, Anchorage, Alaska for 30+ years. An "American Dream" came true for Dr. Tran when she was blessed with owning a private practice and building! Our original staff, Linda & Tracy, are still here along with additional support staff to help take care of you, our sweet and loyal patients!
Comprehensive Eye Exam

The Comprehensive Eye Care service at Nova Eyecare not only performs routine eye exams, but also provides screening and treatment for many general eye conditions. For patients with more complex conditions such as dry eyes, glaucoma and cataracts, we can provide additional diagnostic eye testings or referrals and coordinate care with the appropriate sub specialists.
Contact Lenses

First you will need an comprehensive vision examination to determine your refractive error ( this is your prescription for eyeglasses). Next we will perform a few additional tests to measure your corneal curvature to determine what size of contact lenses your eyes will need. Contact lens evaluations are different than your annual eye exam.

VSP is your vision insurance for vision exam, contact lenses fitting, eyeglasses (frame and lens) and contact lens material. We will need for you provide us with proper information in order for us to verify your benefits. Optomap Retinal Screening is an essential aspects of your eye health and recommended for each patient each year to detect possible eye diseases not seen unless we scanned you.
Dry Eye Center

Because our Dr Tran is a dry eye patient, she understands your discomfort of day to day dry eye symptoms! This is a detailed examination and diagnostic tear evaluation that will take about 90 minutes-2 hours. Complete detailed consultation and education about treatments, in office procedures, eye drops prescription and self care for your dry eye needs.
