Periodontal treatment methods depend upon the presence of oral health versus the type and severity of gum disease, also referred to as Periodontal Disease or Periodontitis. The appropriate treatment will be recommended after your Dentist and Hygienist collect and evaluate all necessary data.
If periodontal health is evident or disease is caught very early on in a mild/moderate stage commonly known as Gingivitis, generally no damage has been done and 1 or 2 regular cleanings will be recommended.

Preventing gum disease, cavities, bad breath, as well as many other oral conditions is the best way to treat them. Prevention saves patients pain, discomfort, embarrassment and extensive treatment that can become very costly. Having to restore a diseased dentition is significantly more expensive than maintaining the dentition with good oral hygiene habits and regular check-ups with your Dentist.
