The American Dental Association and American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry affirm that applying a small smear of fluoride- containing toothpaste will strengthen and clean the teeth. If you use a fluoridated toothpaste, use a very small amount (about the size of a piece of rice) so if swallowed, it will be safe for your baby.

Encouraging your child to stop using a bottle or sippy cup by the age of 1, and by brushing with a fluoridated toothpaste. Making sure they don't eat too many in-between meal snacks, especially sticky foods like fruit snacks and candy. To prevent bite and facial development problems, make sure your child stops any sucking habits (pacifier, thumb sucking, etc.) by age 3 if possible.
Ages 6 to 12
Report
At this age your child will start to lose their first teeth and the tooth fairy will be visiting your house frequently! Around age 6, your child will begin to lose his or her baby teeth and gain permanent ones. Children often have trouble reaching the back teeth and tend to ignore the gum line, so pay attention to those areas.

My 16 month old had his first dental appointment a couple weeks ago at their EG office. Of course he was pretty upset and not happy with the visit BUT the staff were all so wonderful and patient with him! I was overly impressed and will be continuing to go back for our checkups! Highly highly recommended!!!

This is the BEST pediatric dentist. We've seen a few looking for the right fit but have been seeing Dr Kiang for over a year now. Office staff is great, bedside manor is great, I appreciate everyone taking the time to explain things to me so an informed decision can be made where need be. I can't recommend this office enough!

Dr. Gordon and his staff were very professional, personable, and amazing with children. We went to Dr. Gordon for a consultation yesterday 1/18/18. He spent a great deal of time with us explaining his opinion in detail. He answered all our questions. One of my kids is a bit anxious about the thought of getting braces but by the time we left he felt very comfortable. We will be returning in June for a follow up. Oh, did I mention the consultation was free.......nice surprise!!! (2 kids both need braces)
