Well, as a martial arts program, we spend a significant amount of time training in the physical skills for a self defense scenario that we hope we will never face. So what does "Dan" mean anyway? Simply put, "Dan" refers to a level in the Black Belt ranks. At Whole Armor Martial Arts we use a traditional ranking system comprised of "Kyu" levels for color belt students, and "Dan" levels for Black Belt students. Note: This is an Honor Roll of all students who have earned a Shodan rank (1st degree Black Belt) at Whole Armor Martial Arts.

Martial arts is a blast. I enjoy it more each week than the last, more this year than last year. It has given me a great means to stay in shape, a way to learn skills I only dreamed of, and a platform from which to help impact the lives of hundreds of students for the better. All of us have a hole in our life that can only be filled as we get right with God.

Nippon Shiho Karano Ryu is the martial arts style founded by Soke Clement G. Riedner in 1978. However according to the original concept of the term "Ryu", rather than just a single style the Shiho Karano Ryu actually teaches four branches of its art, each maintaining the same concepts and philosophy.
