In 1910, Boulevard Nurseries first opened its doors to the community as a nursery. Over the years the nursery has went from being a center piece of Aquidneck Island to a smaller Garden Center and landscape company. Mike and John Jr are now the 4th generation of Kempenaar's to keep the nursery operation rolling.
Mike has over 19 years of experience and a driving passion for the landscape and John Jr has over 17 years of experience and vast knowledge for the Garden Center. The Boulevard Nurseries Garden Center is both wholesale and retail. The Garden Center carries a wide variety of flowering shade trees and shrubs, to large arborvitae for that instant privacy.

Is a slow-growing, deciduous, small to medium-sized understory tree with an attractive globular form. The foliage holds its beautiful crimson color throughout summer and can turn bright scarlet in autumn. A tall form with a dense, rounded crown and large, medium green leaves in spring and summer. The leaves emerge as red/purple, then become 1.5 to 3 inches long, glossy green with wavy margins and a red blush.
