Many people wait too long to seek hospice care and miss out on the comfort of providing the right care at the right time for the right reasons. We encourage patients and families to contact Harbor Hospice at the time of diagnosis of a terminal illness so that they can receive information earlier about the resources and support available to them - whenever they need it.

Imagine how helpful it would be if someone delivered your medications right to your door; or if someone could stop and visit your loved one when you couldn't be there. Harbor Hospice volunteers do all that - and so much more. All Harbor Hospice volunteers go through a comprehensive training. During the training, they see the many ways that volunteer help is used throughout the organization.

Our Expertise

Care Settings
Report
Home care is the core of what hospice care is all about. Nine out of ten Americans faced with a terminal illness express the wish to die at home, free of pain, surrounded by people they love. Hospice care delivered to you in your own home helps make that wish a possibility. It is not an easy task for a family to take the role of caregiver for the terminally ill loved one.
Testimonials
Report
Harbor Hospice staff discuss treatment preferences and patient beliefs and values with patients and caregivers. These discussions help ensure all patient needs are met and that patients and caregivers are involved in care decisions at the end of life. Harbor Hospice was there for our mother during her last days, and now was there for our father.
