Your initial appointment will be an exam and consultation appointment with one of the doctors to evaluate your orthodontic needs. Dr. Perelmuter or Dr. Glatt will do a very thorough evaluation of your teeth, bite and smile. In most cases, we will take diagnostic radiographs, photographs. This will allow us to decide if orthodontic treatment would be of benefit.

An orthodontic exam by age seven is recommended by the American Association of Orthodontists. We agree that when the permanent teeth begin coming into the mouth, the time for the first consultation is near. The majority of kids are not ready for treatment yet, but the consultation can set them on the right track for orthodontic health.

They have proven to be very effective in aligning teeth, and advances in technology have made braces more efficient, cosmetic and comfortable. Ceramic brackets are the esthetic version of conventional braces. The brackets are made of a strong, translucent toothcolored ceramic material which blends in with the teeth.
