The Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club was established in 1911 and is Oklahoma City's oldest and most prestigious private country club. In 1911, 300 Oklahoma City residents subscribed to become charter members of a new country club, the Oklahoma City Golf & Country Club. One hundred and sixty acres were acquired at Western Avenue and N.W. 36th Street and a clubhouse and golf course were constructed and opened in 1912.

The starting hole is relatively short, but by no means simple. The shorter you can make your approach shot the better, which requires some risk off the tee. Into the wind with the approach, favor a little long of middle, which will also have you putting back uphill most of the time. Downwind with the approach play up the opening and allow for the ball to run out in trying to get at or just past the middle of the green.
