Founded in 1946, Houston Golf Association (HGA) is a not-for-profit, tax exempt 501c (3) organization bolstered by a strong group of volunteer members.

Delivering on its promise to make golf accessible to all, Houston Golf Association hosts amateur golf events, works with the City to restore municipal golf courses and amenities, and holds the charter for The First Tee of Greater Houston providing 350,000 local youth with learning facilities and educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

Houston Golf Association holds the charter to First Tee - Greater Houston (FTGH), a 501c(3) subsidiary of Houston Golf Association. First Tee provides educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices through the game of golf.

As the largest chapter in First Tee national network, FTGH reached over 400,000 youth last year with 9 Core Values and Healthy Habits through the help of 3,885 volunteer hours and partnerships with 523 elementary schools, nine green grass facilities and 55 area non-profits.
Municipal Golf

A public/private partnership between Houston Golf Association and the City of Houston, the Municipal Golf Initiative seeks to transform underserved communities by improving green spaces and restoring civic amenities. Houston Golf Association manages and promotes F.M. Law Park and Gus Wortham Park Golf Course as a 501(c)3 self supporting business, raising private funds for renovation, extensive upgrades and facility quality maintenance.
