Lodestar Family Eyecare
Lodestar Family Eye Care is an eye clinic that opened in April of 2014. We provide optometric and vision care to Palmer, Alaska and the surrounding Mat-Su Valley. Our office is uniquely beautiful, the staff provides the best in customer service, and our ideology is progressive. We believe in preventative and holistic eye care.

The word Lodestar is pronounced just as it is spelled, and it is a noun that means "guiding light" - as in North Star or Polaris. Our sole mission is to provide you with stellar service and to be your guiding light to better vision. We provide full scope optometry services and work closely with other physicians and surgeons to ensure you get the care you require.

Dr. Kara Reynolds
Report
Dr. Kara Reynolds is a native Oregonian. She was raised in a small town in Eastern Oregon, Baker City, where she decided at a young age that she would become an eye doctor. She attended Pacific University, in Forest Grove, Oregon for her undergraduate education, and stayed to obtain her doctorate from the school of Optometry.
Comprehensive Eye Care
Report
Annual (yes, annual!) exams are very important not only to determine if you need correction to see well, but also to maintain the health of your eyes and general health. They are the first line of defense for preventative eye care. While many eye diseases let you know something's wrong - with symptoms such as red eyes, light sensitivity, or flashing lights - some serious, vision-threatening problems have no warning signs.
Pediatric Eye Care
Report
Children cannot always help themselves. Most of the vision conditions that can affect them are painless and present since birth, so they do not know that anything is wrong. They think that how they see is the way that everyone sees. Worse yet, visual disorders in children can result in serious learning problems and, at times, even behavioral issues.
