Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry is a team of expert pediatric dentists who share a common goal: to redefine the way young people feel about "going to the dentist". By creating a truly positive in-office experience, we work to instill better oral hygiene habits, inspire children to take care of their teeth, and encourage healthy lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime.
We knew it would take a truly integrated effort to drive on these goals. In other words, it would take more than a fun waiting room. It takes a thoughtful, individualized approach customized to each patient. It takes an experienced staff that listens. It takes a true belief in education-taking the time to inform and explain good habits, or provide caregivers and parents clear options if treatments are needed.

Our Commitment to the Community
Report
Community is at the heart of all that we do at Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry. We believe in doing our part to ensure dental health can be extended to children who may not have the means to visit the dentist. During National Children's Dental Health month, Kent Island Pediatric Dentistry visits local schools and daycare facilities.
Explanation of Services
Report
In our welcoming setting and new, state-of-the-art operatories-our patients receive expert care and customized treatments to ensure a healthy, happy smile now and well into the future. Regular dental visits help your child stay cavity-free. We will provide an assessment of your child's present oral health and make recommendations to their hygiene regimen to promote and maintain good oral health.
Pre-treatment Instructions
Report
Before the appointment where Nitrous Oxide/Oxygen (laughing gas) will be used with local anesthesia. Please tell your pediatric dentist about any respiratory condition that makes breathing through the nose difficult for your child. It may limit the effectiveness of nitrous oxide/oxygen. Please tell your pediatric dentist if your child is taking any medication on the day of the appointment.
Post-treatment Instructions
Report
Following treatment, your child's teeth, tongue, lips, and cheeks may be numb for an additional 1-2 hours. Please watch your child; often they find this sensation unusual and may bite or play with the area leading to discomfort when the anesthesia has worn off. If you are taking your child back to school or daycare, please inform their teacher or caretaker.
Patient Information
Report
More than 1 in 4 children in the United States have cavities by the time they are 4 years old. That's a lot. To that end, we believe in following the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry's recommendation that your child visit us every six months after the eruption of the first tooth, or when they turn one.
