Services
Health Insurance Assistance
Our team provides personalized guidance for navigating Maine's health insurance landscape. We help individuals and families understand Marketplace options, MaineCare eligibility, and employer-sponsored plans while explaining complex insurance terminology. Through one-on-one counseling sessions, we assist with enrollment processes, coverage comparisons, and identifying cost-saving opportunities through premium tax credits and subsidies. Our services ensure consumers make informed decisions about their health coverage needs.
Coverage Denial Appeals
We specialize in helping consumers challenge denied insurance claims and coverage decisions. Our experts review denial letters, identify regulatory violations, and provide step-by-step guidance through the appeals process. This includes preparing formal appeals, connecting clients with legal resources, and advocating for medically necessary treatments. We focus on resolving disputes related to pre-authorizations, out-of-network care, and essential health benefits while ensuring compliance with state and federal insurance regulations.
Medical Debt Solutions
Our program addresses medical debt challenges through multiple approaches. We help clients negotiate payment plans, identify eligibility for financial assistance programs, and dispute inaccurate charges. We also provide education about Maine's hospital free care policies and sliding-scale fee options. Through policy advocacy efforts, we work to reform billing practices and protect consumers from aggressive debt collection practices while promoting long-term solutions for affordable care.
Policy Advocacy
We drive systemic change through data-driven advocacy initiatives. Our team conducts statewide surveys on health care affordability, publishes research findings, and collaborates with policymakers to address medical debt, prescription costs, and health equity gaps. We organize public awareness campaigns, participate in legislative hearings, and coordinate coalitions to advance reforms that protect consumers and improve access to essential health services across Maine.
Community Education
We provide comprehensive educational resources about health insurance fundamentals and consumer rights. Our offerings include training sessions for enrollment professionals, public workshops on navigating coverage options, and downloadable guides explaining insurance terminology. We also offer customized presentations for community organizations and employers, focusing on practical strategies for managing health care costs and understanding insurance benefits.
