They are precious, but in the day-to-day, they become routine. We're busy people! We clean up the dinner dishes; we wipe little faces, we smooch little faces, we prepare for bedtime.

Those starfish, chubby hands, reaching for your face. How gently your husband held her hand. There is a magic that lies in playing tag in your backyard or going for a discovery walk in a favorite park.

Documenting family life through a camera lens is not anything I ever thought I'd be doing, but the story of why I am is inspired by my daughter Jadyn. I had all the "expected" photos taken at the local chain store studio. I worried more about what she wore and how the props complemented her clothing than having an authentic photo of her.

I'm not just saying that because I am her mom. Her personality was bigger than this entire universe. Here's just a little bit about Jadyn for now. Jadyn never knew a stranger. I think she thought I knew everyone and their name. For example, we could be driving down the road, and someone would pull up beside us at a stoplight, and she would ask me, "Who is that, Mommy?"
The Experience

I photograph kids and families in familiar places because that's where their hearts are happy. My style is non-traditional, non-fussy, and definitely full of fun. Moms love me because they can relax, step back, and let me "do my thing, " knowing that the photos they will get will be full of the messy truth and the bright light that is their family.
