Peter Colman had owned the building for some time and had run a successful design partnership from it back in the mid-seventies, but when the business outgrew the premises in 1980, he decided to develop it into a Wine Bar. Back then it was a relatively new trend well before Gastro, Theme Pubs and Sports bars.

Decided to go here for my little cousins 16th birthday as it’s local to us - we were served by the most miserable waitress who looked like she really didn’t want to be there. We ordered our starters first as we were still undecided on what we wanted for our mains. Once we finished our starters it took around 30-40 minutes before the waitress came back to our table to clear our plates and take our order, our order which never came. After an hour of watching food come out of the kitchen and being served to everyone else but us, we realised they had forgotten about our food. Our waitress by this

Lovely local pizza restaurant. We were taken by our friend who lives in Maida Vale and it’s a real gem. Lovely staff, the owner Pete is really friendly and tells a great story (he’s had the restaurant for 35 years). Tables outside mean you can soak up the ambience on a warm evening and the clientele seem to be lots of local residents who all know each other. Really fun place to sit and people watch. Good wine, good pizza and try the calamari which are excellent. Definitely recommend.

This place was recommended to me by a friend who works there. I will give exact points on why should one visit here.
The staff is extremely welcoming, in a big city if you are just visiting for a few days it could be a great idea to be around people who make sure you feel comfortable.
Their menu is good for the price and the chef has some brilliant skills at Carbonara.
I also ate mushroom pizza and was not disappointed.
Most importantly the bar tender is good and to top it all up the place offers good music taste.
Be ready if you land up being there for an evening when there is a cricket or
