River Oaks Golf Club has been carved from 800 pristine acres stretching along the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway. The unique 27 hole (three nines) design provides the ideal experience for visiting and local golfers. Designed by Gene Hamm and Tom Jackson. The course opened in 1987 as the 27th course built in the Myrtle Beach area.
It received extensive renovations beginning in 2007 and extending into 2010 as over 4000 trees were removed to improve growing conditions with airflow and sunlight. Fox and Otter cart paths were replaced, storm drainage was improved, and many other improvements achieved amazing results. River Oaks has a stellar reputation among local golfers and is the home for the Myrtle Beach Junior Golf Foundation.
