Our Approach
Report
Your Initial appointment will consist of an examination by Dr. Praska to discuss potential treatment options. We know your time is valuable, so we reserve time following the exam for diagnostic records. The records include x-rays, photos and impressions for study models. We also reserve time to show you the x-rays and develop a treatment plan.
Tooth Guidance
Report
Tooth guidance allows anterior teeth to erupt into better alignment through proper timing of deciduous tooth removals. We use the philosophy of tooth guidance so patients can avoid significant relapse and have their teeth stay straighter after the braces are removed. It also helps limit the unnecessary extractions of permanent teeth, orthognathic surgery, and future issues with temporomandibular dysfunction.
Early Treatment
Report
Along with the American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), we recommend that a child receive their first orthodontic screening by the age of 7, earlier if you or your family dentist notices a problem before then. By starting treatment early, we are able to recognize potential problems early and correct them before they become more serious.

Temopromandibular disorder can develop for many reasons. You might clench or grind your teeth, tightening your jaw muscles and stressing your temporomandibular joint. Or you may have a damaged jaw joint due to injury or disease. Temporomandibular disorders are treated with upper or upper and lower removable appliances.
