When you come to us, you'll get compassionate, conscientious help with drug and alcohol addiction recovery from caring professionals. First Step Counseling Services, Inc was established in 1983 by Lou Ann Solem-Tietjen and the late Kent Solem, Licensed Addiction Professionals. Our practice is locally owned and operated.
Individualized Counseling

After a diagnostic evaluation, our counselor will recommend a treatment based on your situation. Our goal is to equip you with the understanding and tools for a productive, satisfying lifestyle that does not include the use of alcohol or drugs. In other circumstances, we may recommend intensive intervention and education programs.
Outpatient Treatment

At First Step, you diagnostic evaluation may lead us to recommend outpatient treatment options. We'll add outpatient treatment to our intensive intervention & Education program. Outpatient treatment is advisable when your assessment shows us that a more in-depth understanding of use, abuse, or addiction is necessary.
Recovery

At First Step, we understand that drug and alcohol addictions often require ongoing treatment. We offer a variety of programs for aftercare clients. We respond to your needs to ensure that you get the aftercare and recovery programs that will be most beneficial. Weekly programs are available, including convenient evening classes.
