Tim was raised in Swartz Creek, Michigan, and spent much of his formative athletic career racing up and down the soccer fields of southern Michigan. He meet the love of his life, Karin, while attending the University of Michigan. They moved to Gaylord to raise their family of four daughters in a growing small community with great access to outdoor activities.
