We strive to meet all patients' ocular and vision needs, regardless of insurance or financial status. As the clinical division of the Illinois College of Optometry, the IEI is a leader in eye care education, outreach, and research.

Patient Portal

The IEI's Patient Portal, powered by NextGen Healthcare, is a secure, confidential, and easy-to-use website that gives patients 24-hour access to their medical records. It's free to sign up. If you do not have an eight-digit token number, you will need to register for the Patient Portal by self-enrolling.
Diabetic Care
Report
Diabetic retinopathy, a condition that occurs in people who have diabetes, is the leading cause of vision loss among adults aged 20-74. If detected early, nearly all cases of vision loss from diabetic retinopathy can be prevented. The Diabetic Eye Center at Illinois Eye Institute is in place to identify diabetic retinopathy and to treat the eye disease before the development of permanent vision loss.
