SPT has been working to adapt our practice by adding telehealth to our offered services. The governor, our licensing board, and national PT organizations are encouraging us to use telehealth. This is a new approach and some may initially feel hesitant, but we are finding it useful and effective for many patients.

Myofacial Release

Fascia (also called "connective tissue") is a body system to which little attention has been paid to in the past. It is the tough, white membrane which we sometimes remove from meat before cooking. It is very strong, being able to withstand and exert a force of 2000 pounds per square inch. The fascial system extends from the toes to the top of the head, throughout the body, in a continuous spider web-like fashion.
Headaches & Migraines
Report
Did you know? In a 2004 study in the medical journal "Headache" (Tepper et al. 2004), a total of 128 medical clinics across 15 countries were studied and out of 1203 patients presenting with a complaint of headaches, by strict criteria, 94% were found to have variants of migraine or "probable" migraine.

Your inner ear does a lot more than help you to hear sound. It detects movement - up and down, forward and backward, and rotation of your head and body. There are specialized structures for each of these movements, and more! This information is sent into your brain and distributed to places like your eyes and your feet and it is compared to other sources of information as well.
Chronic Pain
Report
Did you know that research into chronic pain has exploded in the last 10 years? We now know a lot more about what is happening in the nerves of persons experiencing any type of persistent pain and this is helping us to better develop customized treatment plans. Research is finding that nerves can become sensitized and begin to react to even normal sensations in a painful way.
