The MTA Transfer Station is connected to the historic Terminal Station at 200 Cherry Street in Downtown Macon and features a long, continuous wall of attractive murals.
The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority offers specialized non-emergency service for persons who are unable to travel using fixed route service. All wheelchair passengers are required to allow MTA bus operators to secure their chairs with the four-point tie down procedure. Purchase a Smart Card from the kiosk in the Transfer Station, or use our Token Transit mobile app on a Smart Phone.

Check the schedule to determine your route(s) and the times buses are scheduled to run so you know when to catch the bus. We suggest that you arrive at the bus stop at least ten (10) minutes ahead of the scheduled arrival time. The schedules for all MTA routes are included on the printed map. MTA buses stop only at designated bus stops which are marked with the sign shown here.

MTA Smart cards may be purchased at the kiosk inside the MTA's Transfer Station during Transfer Station hours. It's a quick and simple way to purchase tickets. Applications are available at the MTA office inside the Terminal Station, or download a copy below. Print and return by application by mail or scan and email to june@mta-mac.com.

The safety and security of our passengers, bus operators and employees is job-one at the Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority. Every passenger can help to make each ride a safe one with awareness of important safety tips for riding public transportation. Cross the street safely by using cross walks and intersections, and at night, wear clothing that can be seen in the dark.

Every MTA bus has a bike rack and we encourage bike riders to use our buses to complete their travel, subject to the following rules:. Bike racks carry two bikes at a time and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the bike rack is empty, squeeze the handle to release the latch and fold down the rack.
