Comprehensive Veterinary Care in Tenino, WA
Founded in 1984, Tenino Veterinary Clinic has provided comprehensive veterinary care to the South Puget Sound region for nearly four decades. Located at the crossroads between Olympia and Centralia, our clinic combines deep local roots with a commitment to evolving industry standards. We specialize in curbside veterinary services, a model we've maintained post-pandemic to maximize efficiency while maintaining high-quality care. Our medical team delivers a full spectrum of services including wellness exams, advanced diagnostics, surgical interventions, and emergency care. Through strategic operational adjustments, we've eliminated staff exposure to communicable diseases while expanding access to treatment for pets in crisis.

Our facility handles complex cases ranging from neonatal care to geriatric medicine, utilizing in-house diagnostics and digital radiography. We maintain strict safety protocols to protect both patients and staff, including a zero-tolerance policy for disruptive behavior. Despite reduced face-to-face interactions, we prioritize clear communication about diagnoses and treatment plans. Our operational model allows us to accommodate over 20 new clients weekly who have been turned away by other clinics, while maintaining a 24-hour emergency response capability. Our veterinarians personally greet all new clients, ensuring continuity of care even within our streamlined service framework.

Services
Emergency Veterinary Care
Our emergency services operate beyond standard hours to address critical pet medical needs. Trained staff handle trauma, poisoning, and life-threatening conditions with immediate diagnostics and treatment protocols. We accept urgent cases even when other clinics are at capacity, providing critical care for pets in distress across the South Puget Sound region.
Curbside Veterinary Services
Our modified service model eliminates waiting room congestion while maintaining treatment quality. Veterinarians work directly with pets while communicating diagnostic findings and treatment plans via phone. This approach reduces stress for anxious animals and maintains staff safety while accommodating increased client demand during veterinary care shortages.
Advanced Diagnostic Services
We offer comprehensive in-house diagnostic capabilities including serum chemistry, complete blood counts (CBC), and digital radiography. These services enable rapid assessment of internal conditions, supporting timely treatment decisions for both routine check-ups and emergency cases requiring immediate intervention.
Surgical Procedures
Our surgical services encompass spay/neuter operations, dental procedures, and complex orthopedic interventions. Board-certified surgeons perform both scheduled and emergency operations using modern anesthetic protocols and post-operative care plans tailored to each patient's specific needs.
Lost & Found Assistance
We actively support local pet recovery efforts through our digital lost & found platform. When pets become separated from owners, we publish identification photos and coordinate contact between concerned parties, leveraging our community connections to reunite lost pets with their families.

Dr Keith and his staff were amazing. We had an emergency with our dog and could not find anyplace to see him icluding our vet of 15 years. They got us in right away, were fast and very clear in the diagnosis and next steps. We will be changing vets!

We have been going to Dr. Keith for 16 years now, with an assortment of many pets - 3 Mastifffs, 2 Yorkie mixes, a Rottweiler and a Toy Poodle, plus 8 cats of various breeds. This is the best vet we have ever been to. The Dr. Keith is a great diagnostician, extremely knowledgeable about all kinds of animals, and is conservative about rushing into very expensive procedures that may not be necessary. He was right every time! He is kind and explains everything in detail. All our kids have been comfortable with him, and everyone I have recommended him to has been happy. His staff is awesome

For what its worth, I thought Dr Keith was a great veterinarian: compassionate, thorough, and committed to the craft and the creatures in his care. In the two months of our association he took great efforts to explain what was going on, the various options, and shared a lot of information. His turnaround time on blood tests was impressive as was the time he took to explain the results. I was very happy to think I had found our Vet for the foreseeable future. That said, I was profoundly disappointed by the entire process we went through on Monday 08/13/18 with their office. The week before our
