Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery restores clear vision by replacing cloudy lenses with artificial intraocular lenses. Using advanced techniques like bladeless LASIK and light-adjustable lenses, our surgeons perform over 150 years of combined experience. Patients often experience improved vision within days, with options for customized lenses to reduce dependence on glasses.
Laser Vision Correction
Lasik and PRK procedures correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism using state-of-the-art laser technology. Our bladeless LASIK system offers rapid recovery with most patients achieving 20/20 vision. Custom treatment plans address individual corneal characteristics while advanced diagnostics ensure optimal outcomes for patients seeking permanent vision correction.
Retinal Services
Specialized treatment for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal detachments utilizes cutting-edge diagnostics like OCT imaging. Our fellowship-trained surgeons have over 50 years combined experience treating complex posterior segment conditions. Services include anti-VEGF injections, laser photocoagulation, and vitrectomy procedures across multiple regional locations.
Corneal Cross-Linking
FDA-approved corneal cross-linking strengthens weakened corneas using riboflavin and UV-A light. This minimally invasive procedure halts progression of keratoconus and post-LASIK ectasia. Performed in-office, the treatment combines vitamin B2 application with controlled light exposure to create corneal collagen bonds for improved structural integrity.
Comprehensive Eye Exams
Annual eye exams evaluate visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and ocular health to detect conditions like glaucoma and macular degeneration. Advanced diagnostics include OCT scans, visual field testing, and retinal imaging. Our optometrists and ophthalmologists recommend biennial exams for adults over 35, with annual screening for high-risk patients and those aged 65+.

I tried ordering online my glasses from another company, the first time they came in they were messed up! It took weeks to get a new pair! I couldnt see the whole time I waited for them! When I purchased my glasses at Asheville Eye - and then broke them -they fixed them the very moment I walked in!! I was very impressed with the 4-5 times I have been in their store (Hendersonville and Arden NC) and would HIGHLY recommend them and their service!!

Zero tact or bedside manner. Staff carry a condescending attitude towards parents who are trying to figure out what questions need to be asked. We gave them three visits and came away with a worse and worse impression each time. Highly consider other offices in the area before this. Would go Zero stars if that were an option.

The doctor was fabulous. However, I was told by the staff when I made my appointment that with insurance I would only pay a deposit for the glasses until received. After taking the time to select my glasses I was told that I had to pay everything up front per the insurance company. (This was not true as I called the insurance company later to question this policy.) I had the funds but needed to contact my bank to transfer them. The associate was to call me at an agreed upon time to collect the payment and never did. Four days later I called back and was told someone would call me back. I only got

After having used the Optical Shop four times for new glasses, this time they made the new frames with the wrong prescription. When I told the oculist that I could not read even the largest print because of the visual distortions the glasses were causing, she ridiculously stated, "Well, theyre new prescriptions so you have to get used to them". I responded that the optimitrist would never give me a prescription that made my vision worse. The oculist said, "Well, do you have cataracts? That can cause distortion." And so it went until I again asked her to check the lens. She returned after about

Not a good experience. I was given inappropriate medical advice, sent out with dilated pupils without sunglasses, deposited In optical waiting area while my eyes were dilated without instructions on what to do next, my glasses have a flaw and I can't wear them and my bill was incorrect. Overall, Asheville eye associates has not lived up to it's excellent reputation. It's a shame. I went back with my unwearable glasses and met with a technician. The advice was to wear them for a week even though I can't see it. I tried but unable. The only positive aspect to this is that the doctor wants an appt

My son has gone here for complex eye problems for several years and time management with these people is nonexistent. It is consistently 3+ hours spent in the office just for an exam. If you have all day to sit around waiting then this is the place for you!

Would never even walk into this office again if it were my only option because of the lack in urgency, front staff, and phone answering staff. My son who has complex eye conditions has been seeing Dr. Wiggins since he was two. Weve been patching and getting glasses since with no improvement or even suggestions on different solutions and we are now coming up on the cut off to make the decision to have surgery done. Dr. Wiggins is a good doctor but we feel as if more couldve been done if we were given more time and attention at our appointments with him. It was always a churn and burn atmosphere
