Otters (Young 3s) - our Otters and Teddy Bears are combining as one Teddy Bear Class for Fall 2021. Our staff members are all experienced early-childhood educators, and many have worked at NHPS for more than a decade. Our teachers have varied backgrounds, including elementary education, special education, science education, communication, fine arts and creative dramatics.
The staff participates in continuing-education programs, staying informed about the ever-changing needs of today's families. Our programs are structured around learning centers and play activities that enable children to investigate at their own pace. Our play helps build foundations for skills in mathematics, reading, science, art and music, as well as large and small muscle coordination.

Report
Parent helpers are an integral part of our program. Families are regularly scheduled to volunteer in our classrooms, approximately once a month. It doesn't have to be Mom or Dad - grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies, etc. are welcome (and really - it's a lot of fun!). NHPS is an outreach of St. John UMC.
