In the heart of downtown Alpine, Texas, the historic Holland Hotel has greeted visitors on the Sunset Limited rail line since 1928. At the time, trains sporting radical new "streamlined" designs were firing the imaginations of travelers, while among the first Holland guests were ranchers whose family names resonate through the history of the West.

Nice place. Very historic with that south western feel. The hotel looks cool, but this is for The Century Bar & Grill. You have to go through the bar to get there, so be sure to ask around if you can't find it and everyone will help get you there. We had the fried pickles as an appetizer and they were so good, between my son and I, we forgot the usual picture. Main courses; fish and chips (really I had fries), then the beef and bratwurst burger with waffle cut sweet potato fries. The fish was thick cut with a crumb coating fried to perfection the regular fries were, we'll regular fries. The beef

2nd visit, Incredible fare, awesome and attentive staff. Our waiter John was extremely accommodating, very friendly, and knew the menu inside and out. We had the Asian sticky ribs and the gigantic blue cheese wedge salad for an appetizer. Both were fantastic. We also had the fish and chips, and the locally raised ribeye. Both were phenomenal. Highly recommend this venue.

Loved everything about our dinner. We had blackened red fish and it was excellent. As was the salad, drinks and dessert! The waitress, and the cook were outstanding. Both were so sweet. The manager went above and beyond to make our evening truly wonderful!
They are trying to come back after a year of covid and they are seriously doing an outstanding job.

Great place with some rich history and atmosphere. Food is top notch made with high quality ingredients and great taste. Love to eat out on the open air back patio. They have nice one of a kind bar drinks. Catch it on the right time and you'll experience some world class entertainment as well. A must stop when visiting or coming through Alpine.
