Education is not just schooling. Genuine education is about the joys of discovery and the deep satisfaction of realizing one's potential. The Montessori approach provides education for life. At Prairie View Montessori our goal is to create an environment where this can happen for every child, at every age.
Although we sometimes hear the word "philosophy" applied to Montessori education, it is not a set of beliefs, but rather a scientific method, an approach to the child which has as its core a fundamental respect for the abilities with which each child is endowed. Children are born with certain abilities, but they don't develop them in a void!

About Us
Report
Children learn by observing everything that comes within their attention span. It is critical they are in an environment to kindle their inquisitiveness and be excited to ask questions. Prairie View's primary mission is to serve children by offering interactive, dynamic learning environments, which meet their cognitive, physical, social and emotional needs.
Method
Report
Although we sometimes hear the word "philosophy" applied to Montessori education, it is not a set of beliefs, but rather a scientific method, an approach to the child which has as its core a fundamental respect for the abilities with which each child is endowed. Dr. Montessori was a scientist and a physician.
Environment
Report
Children are born with certain abilities, but they don't develop them in a void! They need a carefully prepared environment, which meets their needs at each level of development, in order to fully realize their potential. As infants we do not learn to walk by lying in a crib, nor do we learn by an adult forcing our limbs to move beneath us.
Enrollment
Report
Prairie View Montessori welcomes all children without regard to race, color, gender, or religious background. To meet Illinois state licensing requirements, children must be three to enter pre-school, out of diapers, and able to toilet themselves. Our admission process begins when a family contacts us requesting information.
Programs
Report
Objectively designed to have kids relax and unwind; yet be engaged and connected to the fundamentals of the Montessori curriculum. Montessori programs are designed around children's developmental stages. Classes are divided into three year age groups to approximate these cycles. The advantage of this is that children get to spend longer periods of time together.
