He studied Animal Science at the UNIVERSIDAD LA SALLE in Bogota where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree in 1997. Licensed in the State of Florida in 2011.

We have a veterinarian and personnel on duty 6 days a week who are trained and equipped to handle any urgent care your pet has. Usually an emergency team consists of at least one veterinarian and several technicians working together to save a pet's life. Emergencies can be things such a snail bait poisoning, hit by car, and chocolate ingestion.

Dr. Joe Barbosa acquired the Animal Hospital of Hallandale in 1993 from Dr. Ward, and has been serving the Hallandale community since 1963. Since then, Dr. Joe Barbosa has performed 1,000+ surgeries (excluding spays and neuters) at his Hospital in Hallandale. Dr. Barbosa received his veterinary degree from Universidade Federal Fluminense, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1980.

I sincerely say this is one of the best vets in Miami. Reasonably priced and most importantly actually care! They are all so friendly and after surgery they called two days later to see how hes doing and if I have any questions! I recently took my dog to Dr. Barbosa for an Ear hemotoma and the service that he provided was immeasurable.
