The self-funded Minimum Essential Coverage (MEC) Plus Plan offers employers a cost effective, self-insured alternative to comprehensive health insurance plans. The MEC Plus plan is not insured, and Unique Healthcare does not arrange stop loss coverage. Since 2017, UNIQUE HEALTHCARE has been helping employers manage and administer the Unique Healthcare MEC Plus Plan throughout El Paso.

Self-funded Employer Plan offered in the small group market either in or out of the exchange must offer a Qualified Health Plan that covers at least 60% of all essential benefits at the bronze level. Self-funded plans and plans in the large group market are not required to cover all the essential benefits.

The Unique Healthcare Program is an affordable healthcare plan for companies, where everyone qualifies! Avoid being penalized by the government. Applicable Large Employer (ALE's) with 50 or more full-time or 50 full-time equivalent employees are required to offer an affordable, minimum-value group health plan and may be subject to an ESRP (Employer Shared Responsibilty Payment).
