Life with braces is essentially the same as life without braces - with the exception of eating certain foods! Braces today are a lot more comfortable than they used to be, however, it is normal to have some soreness for a few days after each adjustment appointment. It's ok to take a pain reliever if needed - whatever you would normally take for a headache will work to reduce the tenderness.

Invisalign Teen is an increasingly popular treatment option for adolescents. This is a great option for any patient who may feel self-concious about visibly straightening the teeth with braces. The barely-visible plastic aligners gradually straighten the teeth from their current position to a beautiful, straight smile.

These nearly invisible aligners are smooth and removable so they won't interfere with your daily life. The series of clear plastic aligners are changed every 1-2 weeks to gradually straighten the teeth.

For some patients, a healthy, balanced smile cannot be obtained with orthodontic treatment alone. An underlying skeletal discrepancy may necessitate jaw surgery to acheive a stable result. If this is the case, the pre-surgical orthodontic work-up can generally be done using either braces or Invisalign.

For kids and adults alike, the first visit to an orthodontic office can be intimidating. At Babb Orthodontics, we want you to feel comfortable and welcome from the moment you walk in. Prior to your first visit, we will email you some simple paperwork to complete and bring in with you. You can also complete it in our office before you see Dr. Babb, but filling it out in advance will save you time when you get here.
