We construct detached ADUs up to 1,200 sq ft, attached units, garage conversions, and internal ADUs that meet current San Diego regulations and zoning requirements.
How long does an ADU project take?
Standard projects complete in 10-14 months, including 3-4 months for permits and 6-10 months for construction depending on project complexity and location.
Do you handle permit applications?
Yes, our team manages complete permitting processes including plan preparation, submission, and coordination with city departments to ensure code compliance.
What financing options exist?
We assist with CalHFA grants up to $40,000, SDHC loans up to $250,000, and conventional financing options that may incorporate projected rental income.

Best decision I have made! That is to hire them. My backyard looks so good now. This is my home we are talking about and I want it to be done well. Budgetwise, they were very reasonable. They are so professional. I watched how they did it. They were not in a hurry to just get the job done. They want to do it right and want complete customer satisfaction. Both Thomas and Barr were great people to deal with. Pedro and Felipe did fantastic as well. You will not regret hiring them at all! I am very please and happy.

Its not easy to pick a contractor to remodel your backyard. There are plenty to choose from in SD. However, Better Place stuck out because of the volume of positive reviews. I called for a free estimate and was impressed when Thomas the Project Manager came out to look at our backyard project. Thomas is very professional, detailed and accommodating. I highly recommend this company (ask for Thomas).
