From his first insurance business out of his home back in 1984 to the current office building located in downtown Osmond, Merlyn Kuhl and New Frontier Insurance Agency have come a long way. There have been a lot of changes- like son, Dennis Kuhl joining the agency in 2000 and grandson Garret Kuhl coming aboard in 2013.

I've been in the industry for 18 years now, being licensed in all lines of insurance. I started working at New Frontier with my father, Merlyn, in 2000 after spending close to 20 years in the agriculture and manufacturing industry with Lind-Gubbels Inc. in Osmond. I was born and raised in Osmond and after graduation attended Northeast Community College and the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Even though we write all lines of insurance, we put a lot of focus on our crop insurance because of how critical it is here in rural Nebraska. We have full-time crop insurance agents that are working in the industry each day. Production Hail is an endorsement that is designed to to provide coverage for bushels above and beyond your MPCI policy. Production Hail allows farmers to affordably insure a lot of dollars per acre- up to 120% of their approved yield multiplied by the spring price.

These plans are very flexible, you can add these just to certain fields if you don't want to cover every acre, you can add coverage later in the season, and we can promise you same day coverage if you're worried about an approaching storm.
