Hobbies: Gardening, hiking. Favorite thing about MKS? Happy, excited kids. Family: Husband Joe, kids Alisa, Joe and Blake. Dog, Radar. Anything Else? I love watching my kids excel at their passions: choir, football, baseball, ROTC, art and wrestling. Favorite thing about MKS? My favorite thing about MKS is the amazing staff, doctors, and the families we get to see everyday.

Working with children is my favorite part of pediatric dentistry. The opportunity to work with kids always brightens my day and allows me to have fun while providing their dental care. While I was born in San Diego, my family moved to Reno when I was five so, I consider Reno my home. I attended the University of Nevada, Reno for my undergraduate education and then moved to San Francisco to attend the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry.

I can not say it enough but this place is ahhhhhmazing! Dr. Gookin and his staff are always kind and courteous. Dr. Gookin does not offer unneeded treatment and explains all options possible to allow the parents to make the right decision for their child. This is not one of those "absolute dental" type chains that only cares about numbers.

We highly recommend you find a 'home' for your child's dental needs by one year of age. Kids who have a dental home receive more appropriate care, routine cleanings, and develop a better relationship with their dentist. You should try creating a fun and enjoyable atmosphere on the way to the dentist which will help them have a more positive experience.
