I grew up in Northwest Indiana on a 220-acre farm with my brother and two sisters. I attended Purdue University to obtain a bachelor's of science degree and a minor in chemistry which allowed me to apply to dental school.
Although I was accepted to several dental schools, I decided that Indiana University Dental School in Indianapolis was the best choice-many of the authors of the top textbooks used in dental schools were instructors at IU at that time.
