Schmidt Insurance Services, Inc. was originally founded in 1970 by Clarence Schmidt, Lois's father, under the name Smitty's Insurance. Clarence passed away in 1981 and Lois and her mother, R. Helen, operated the business together until 1984. Helen retired in 1984 and Lois purchased the agency and it became Schmidt Insurance Services.
