Amy first came to Barataria Dental, LLC in 1978 as Dr. Guy's dental assistant. She now helps lead the team with Dr. Valerie and Dr. Maria as the Office Manager. She attended LW Higgins High School in Marrero. She has trained as an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant and is certified in Radiology. She has over 30 years of experience in the dental field.

Barataria Dental is a general, family and cosmetic dentistry practice, founded in 1965 by Dr. Guy Ribando. Today, Dr. Maria Burmaster and Dr. Valerie Hemphill carry on their father's practice, now at Barataria Dental. We are conveniently located in Marrero, Louisiana and serve the entire West Bank of New Orleans.

Dr. Valerie R. Hemphill earned a Bachelor of Science from Southeastern Louisiana University prior to attending Louisiana State University School of Dentistry from 1989-1993. Along with Dr. Maria, Dr. Valerie graduated in 1993 earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery.
Dr. Valerie has been an active member of the New Orleans, Louisiana, and American Dental Associations since 1993, and is a member of the Crescent City Study Club branch of the Seattle Study Club.She achieved additional training in the treatment of TMJ disorder, occlusion and Invisalign through the Dawson Center.
