Studies show that radon is more of a risk to smokers, but nonsmokers have a slightly elevated chance of developing lung cancer when radon levels in the home are high. Make sure you get a WDI inspection before you purchase your new home. The main focus of these inspections is to determine whether or not a home or any part of a home has a termite infestation, but there are other potential wood destroying insects as well.
